Hello foodies, thought it was about time to post the progress of our test wicking beds. As you can see by the pic they are certainly doing well and the greens flourishing and already being used in our kitchen. We are in the second month of growth here and the Kale and Chard are loving it as is the Chocolate Mint, Parsley, Basil and Chives.
We have used Seasol in the water to supply fertiliser and had to increase the frequency of water reserve top ups, as the plants grow. So far the test beds have been a hit, minimal maintenance since we set them up and delicious organic greens to enjoy. I definitely recommend them, especially if you have minimal space; and you can use clay balls instead of gravel in the base to make them a lot lighter and easier to move around for those with bad backs.
Phill 🙂
